A flooring yard in South Austin, run like family since 1970. The pallets are still stacked, the office is still family, and we still treat a small job the same as a big one.
Darrell Tedford
Darrell Tedford walked out of a sales job that wanted more numbers and less integrity. He started over with scratch-and-dent furniture and rugs out of a small spot in South Austin.
It grew into flooring almost by accident: carpet, then hardwood, then tile, one truckload at a time.
Darrell's brother Layman
The business passed to Darrell's brother Layman, and the name stayed on the door.
Terry Ross
Terry Ross started as a helper on the floor in 2001 and worked his way up over two decades before taking the reins.
When Terry took over, he brought back the original name so the business could keep growing while staying true to its legacy. It is a quiet promise to keep it going the way it always has been.
Today
The yard is still stacked with pallets, the office is family, and the mountain of tile out back still helps people find a match when nobody else can. The tension was never about growth. It was about staying who we have always been while everyone else tries to look bigger than they are.
The promise
Come in, get treated like you have been coming here for years, and leave with exactly what you need, at a fair price.
That goes for your first visit, and for the contractor who loads up every week.
Tile, hardwood, vinyl plank, laminate, carpet and stone, in stock in Austin. Our focus is floor covering, and we go deep on it, especially tile, which most shops skip because of the weight and the space it takes. That means material on hand instead of backorders.
Go from material to finished floor without bringing in a second vendor. Homeowners and contractors both get one team and one phone number from selection to completion.
